Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information may be collected when you visit The Crochet Nook and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
The site does not require an account. When you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, topic, and message you provide. When you leave a maker note, we collect your name, email address, comment, associated article, and submission time. Your email address is used for replies and moderation and is never displayed with an approved comment.
Newsletter and free PDF
If you choose to sign up for the Pumpkin Bear PDF and occasional crochet emails, we collect your email address, the signup location, and the times of your request and confirmation. We send a confirmation email first. After you confirm, Resend holds your address in The Crochet Nook newsletter list and sends the PDF link and future newsletters. Each newsletter includes an unsubscribe option. Contact and comment addresses are not added to this list automatically. You can also ask us to remove your details through the Contact page.
Spam prevention and technical data
Contact, comment, and newsletter forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated abuse. Cloudflare may process browser, device, network, and interaction information to determine whether a submission is legitimate. The Crochet Nook sends the Turnstile token and may send the requesting IP address to Cloudflare for verification, but does not store that IP address in its form tables.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Vercel Web Analytics records aggregated page views, referring sites, visited pages, approximate location, device type, operating system, and browser information. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not provide The Crochet Nook with information that directly identifies a visitor. Google Analytics and the Pinterest tracking tag are not used. Pinterest sharing links remain available when you choose to save a project. HBAgency and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies and process device, browser, and network information to serve and measure ads. Where required, HBAgency's consent banner lets you make choices before relevant advertising technologies are used. See HBAgency's privacy policy for more information.
Affiliate links
Some future links may be affiliate links. A retailer may use a cookie to attribute a qualifying purchase. This does not change the price you pay. See the Disclosure page for more information.
How information is used and shared
Information is used to answer messages, moderate comments, deliver requested crochet emails, prevent misuse, operate and improve the site, and comply with law. We do not sell contact, comment, or newsletter email addresses. Advertising partners may receive device and browsing information as described above. Vercel hosts the website and provides anonymous traffic analytics, Supabase stores form and newsletter confirmation records, Resend delivers emails and stores newsletter contacts, and Cloudflare provides spam prevention. HBAgency and its advertising partners may process information for the advertising purposes described above. These providers process information under their own privacy terms and applicable choices.
Retention
Approved comments may remain visible while the related article is published. Rejected or spam comments are periodically removed. Contact messages and associated email addresses are retained only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain necessary records, or meet legal obligations. Newsletter confirmation records and subscription status are kept while needed to manage the list and demonstrate the request; you may ask for deletion.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including the EEA, United Kingdom, California, and other jurisdictions, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, request portability, opt out of sale or sharing, or withdraw consent. Requests may be sent through the Contact page. Identity may need to be verified.
Security, children, and international transfers
Reasonable safeguards are used, but no online service can promise absolute security. This site is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Service providers may process information in countries with different data protection laws, using appropriate safeguards where required.
